I am Kush Kothari, a fourth year student studying CS at VJTI, Mumbai. I am mainly a Python-based developer, having reasearch and industry experience in Deep Learning, Data Science and Web Development. If you are interested in any of these fields, I'd love to have a chat!
I am an open-source enthusiast having being selected for the coveted open-source program Google Summer of Code for the years 2021 and 2022. I also posses research experience in Deep Learning-based projects, having worked under PhDs at many international universities.
I understand one's first steps in <code> can be super daunting! Trust me: Been there, done that ;)
But things go about much smoother with a mentor to help along. I've had some pretty amazing mentors along the way and I intend to give it forward! Even if you aren't a beginner, and need help starting with the fields of Deep Learning, Data Science, and Web Development, feel free to register. Basically, if I can help, I'd love to!
I offer paid mentoring. Now, I know it is difficult to trust a random dude you haven't met yet. But I let my achievements do the talking :)
So scroll down to see a few highlights of my experiences and achievements so far. Not satisfied? Use the button below to find a up-to-date version of my resume that delves into further details.
Project: Adding dask-based functionality to the Uproot library
I work under computational physicists at Princeton and CERN and assist in developing computational tools used in the analysis of data from ROOT files. This summer, my work is mainly based on integrating Dask with Uproot, thus allowing faster parallel processing of data through its delayed paradigm.
Project: GNNs for mRNA-miRNA interaction analysis
Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) are a class of deep learning methods mainly geared towards performing computations on graph-based data. My work here uses a bipartite graph representation of mRNA-miRNA interactions to train a GNN and build a classifier that predicts the presence of a particular kind of cancer.
Project: Implement a download and install pipepine for spatial and raster datasets.
I worked on adding features to a open-source data-science oriented python library, Data Retriever, that automates data-science tasks like data download, installation into database management software, and its cleaning.
